Problem: Touch is off on half of the touch screen and it has rendered the tablet unusable.

It is not likely a software issue.

Open it up and check if the flat cable from the digitizer is properly inserted.

You could try to remove/re-insert into the connector.

Be careful with how you open and close the connector latch – they are pretty easily broken.

I just opened the tablet and checked all the flat cables.  They are all snug.

Also when I first tried to install windows, touch screen does not work during installation. However after I installed all the drivers, I attempted another fresh windows install. The only different is that the touch work this time while installing windowsand its not accurate.

Any though about what might have happened.

I can use the tablet with a mouse and have installed the latest bios

Weird, the text change all spaced far apart......

Linda, sorry that the result of opening your tablet is that it may now be bricked.

When I responded to your post, I only saw the first line of your post (seriously – the rest was not showing) otherwise I would not have advised to open it up.

You say it isn’t powering up now. Do you think the plastic button assembly for ON/OFF  and Vol up/dn is inserted properly?

    don’t worry, its fine.

The buttons are inserted properly.  The tablet won’t turn on however it feels warm to the touch.  I tried holding the power button think it was just the LCD screen broke but the tablet remains warm.  It was low on battery so it soon cooled down.  I tried turning it on again but it didn’t.  Not sure if you know what I mean.

Did you pull out the ribbon cable from its connector or just look to see if it was properly seated?
